From an emotional point of view, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a few happy snaps. So what if Auntie May is slightly out of focus? In addition, you don’t have to designate one or more of your friends to play “photographer”, only to find that they didn’t capture all the moments that mattered most to you. How do we organise birthday party photography sessions?
After getting in touch and checking dates and times, the next step is to discuss the photoshoot itself. As the party planner, you’ll have a fair idea of how the proceedings will go, and which key events will call for photographs. Of course, a lot of impromptu fun will be had too, and the photographer will be on the alert for them, but there are certain moments that are central to the party, and these cannot be missed.
On the day, the photographer will arrive prior to the party begins. Not only does this provide a chance to “case” the venue, identifying the best vantage points, but if you’ve hired or created an elegant space, it can be photographed in its own right and make sure all the detail is photographed before guests arrive. Then we have the guests arriving – a wonderful “red carpet” opportunity to capture every guest in all their finery, and then onwards to the main event.
We haven’t touched on kids’ parties yet, but believe me, they’re even more fun, and the little ones are all too happy to have posed or candid shots taken.
